I’m incredibly shocked. It was only a month ago that Dave and I were ribbing each other, as we usually did. I’d make a snide remark, he’d retort and call me hateful. We could have had our own Punch & Judy Show.
He was full of verve. He thought independently, was tough on his students, but listened to our mundane ramblings and offered great insight into the journalism business. Best of all, he wanted to do crazy things in journalism that would push its envelope.
I will miss him.
